Adventures in 2018

For those of you who aren't familiar with Sarah Casile Weddings. We are two travel photographers who adventure all around the US to photograph weddings and amazing couples!

I am feeling really nostalgic today, so here goes a 2018 recap :) Ready? It's a ton! lol

I am incredibly overwhelmed by the opportunities I was able to experience and be a part of in 2018. It was a big, BIG year for me.

It was the first year I went FULL TIME and supported my whole family on my income alone. But that was a big step for me!

It was also the year that I totally switched gears to focus on Wedding Photography as the main focus of my company. I LOVE weddings and I found this incredible passion for photographing love. <3

Also in 2018, we traveled a LOT! Megan (best friend/associate photographer/and person I can't live without) and I pretty much traveled to a new state or city every month of the year! It was amazing, draining, beautiful, exhausting, and magnificent all at the same time. I don't regret one second of it!

I really love the adventures of traveling and this is what spoke to my heart this year. All the new sights, experiences, and surroundings of brand new places. This is what I want to do and I know it with every fiber of my being <3

But here's a not so quick recap of all the places we went and a little about our trip to each location.

Thanks for following along!

__________

- January -

We started our year off in Georgia. In the Blue Ridge area. Then we hopped straight to Florida to snag some warmer weather :) What a great place to be in January! This trip was just for fun but we ended up having a maternity shoot while we were there :) Also, updated some photos of Megan and her boo on the beach <3

- February -

This month kicked off the Newborn Workshop I hosted and taught in Destin Florida! It was absolutely incredible to bond and teach so many wonderful women. Also, what a great place to be in February! We had our friends Dorosh Documentaries along for the trip to film the whole workshop as well! We were super busy with several newborn shoots, a wedding shoot, and 3 maternity shoots while we were there.

I can't wait to go back!

-- March --

Texas in the Springtime is absolutely glorious. Dallas was our target for March. We participated in the Styled Shoots Across America Conference at the White Sparrow, a stunning venue about an hour outside of Dallas. After the conference, we had a family session AND a couples session. Our family session was right in the center of Dallas and the couples session was in the COOLEST part of the city called Deep Ellum. Deep Ellum was filled with hipster bars, graffiti, and unique art exhibits!

Back home we had a gorgeous couples session at Robin Hill Park that blew me away!

-- April --

New York, Baby! April was the first time we traveled to New York and it did not disappoint! New York is truly the city that never sleeps. It invigorated my soul and I am absolutely hooked on New York! We had a Styled Shoot at the Foundry in Long Island City and then had a session on the Highline with a bride right in New York City. We experienced a museum, true New York pizza, $2 shots at a dive bar, and all the life that NYC infuses into you. I'm addicted and could totally move there!

-- May --

May was a BUSY month for us! We kicked off the month with a styled shoot of our own over at Hip at The Flashlight Factory in Pittsburgh.

We had the most amazing vendors participate but the biggest shoutout goes over to Jimmy and his team at Greensinner Floral Design for the amazing set design of this wonderful styled shoot.

Then we headed over to Detroit, Michigan to capture an over-the-top amazing Styled Shoot at the Belle Isle Boat House. It was published on Ruffled Blog :)

We also got to explore downtown Detroit! We ate at a hole in the wall Mexican Restaurant and photographed a super couple on rooftops and alleyways that made our heart sing <3

-- June --

Gatlinburg was June's adventure! A gorgeous elopement shoot kicked off this trip then some exploring in downtown Gatlinburg. This sweet little adventure town has so much to offer!

-- July --

My Birthday Month! Anyone else also celebrate their birthday all month long? BC SAME!

Some engagement sessions and a super unique wedding started this month. But we ended with an amazing styled shoot we hosted at the Bordone LIC in Long Island City, New York. Then also, a shoot at an Alpaca Farm! Talk about DREAMS!

-- August --

August was bizz-ayy. SO much going on in August. Weddings back, to back, to back. A trip to Chicago where I visited my family and also we had an amazing styled session in Lincoln Park in The City. We adventured to the top of The Willis Tower, I got to show Megan all my favorite places to eat like - Boz's, Jaenicke's, and Monical's Pizza. YUM! Toss in some couples sessions and that's a full plate!
